Adhiambo Odaga
Adhiambo is a Director of Alluvial Trade Kenya, whose work has focused on natural resources management, sustainable market-driven opportunities, skills development, education and institution building as well as broadening youth and women’s access to financial services. She is a Director of Greetings Media Limited, a start-up multi-media company. Adhiambo was the pioneer Managing Director of Dangote Foundation and Director of Pan Africa Programs/Representative-West Africa of the Ford Foundation. Prior to that, at the World Bank Adhiambo worked on girls’ education in Africa. She also served as Social Scientist for West Africa for the International Potato Center, promoting the post-harvest uses of sweet potato in the bakery and confectionery sector and the strengthening of seed potato systems in Cameroon. An Urban Studies graduate of College of St. Catherine, St. Paul Minnesota, she has a Masters of City and Regional Planning Degree from the University of California at Berkeley and a Doctor of Philosophy degree from the University of Oxford (St. Antony’s College) which she attended as the first Rhodes Scholar from Kenya.
